During the Winter in Wellness Retreat we’ll lay the foundation for 25 wellness practices that you can tap into immediately and keep with you going forward. Instead of dreading re-entry of everyday life, you’ll walk away with new insights and actionable next steps for creating more of what you want in your life.
Recent advances in the field of neuroplasticity have shown that what we think, do and pay attention to changes the very structure and function of our brains.
So that means we can intentionally train the brain for more well-being. Scattered thoughts =scattered energy. The opposite is what we want- thoughts that are focused and a constant sense of clarity. To feel productive yet calm and centered is amazing.
The more we use the parts of the brain associated with concentration, and compassion, the easier it is to focus, and feel authentic kindness toward others. Scientists call this “use-dependent cortical reorganization.” In plain English that means the way we use our minds affects how our brains work. But a simple way to think of it is this: what you practice becomes stronger. We’ll share a beautiful compassion practice during the retreat that activates this part of the brain.
During the retreat you’ll also create your own ritual that fits into the life you already have. You are already doing a ritual of some sort, the question is, does it provide positivity, and clarity? Often, we survive on autopilot, not consciously choosing how to begin each day. The good news is we get a reset button daily, every 24 hours we can begin again. We’ll explore how to learn to like what doesn’t cost much. Things that are in our midst, but seldom noticed, like the songs of birds, the sound of rain on the roof and the gentle fall of snow. The secret is to keep it simple, and so at this retreat, we are going to keep it simple.
